I'm writing this blog to document my experiences abroad in Taiwan with the NSLI-Y program. NSLI-Y is a State Department funded program that gives full scholarships to high school students for language study abroad; the program focuses on languages not commonly taught in American schools and sends high schoolers abroad for summer and year programs. I recieved a scholarship to study in Jiaxing, China for six weeks in the summer of 2015. After that amazing experience, I chose to apply for the academic year program and was selected to study in Kaohsiung, Taiwan for ten months. I hope you'll enjoy following my journey through Taiwan.
